The Banana Tree

　　A king had three sons whom he loved equally well， and he did not know which of them to appoint as king following his own death.

　　When the time came for him to die he called them to his bed and said， “Dear children， I have thought of something that I will reveal to you. The one of you is the laziest shall become king after me.”

　　The oldest one said， “Father， then the kingdom belongs to me， for I am so lazy that whenever I lie down to sleep， and a drop falls into my eyes， I will not even close them so that I can fall asleep.”

　　The second one said， “Father， the kingdom belongs to me， for I am so lazy that when I am sitting by the fire warming myself， I would rather let my heels burn up than to pull my legs back.”

　　The third one said， “Father， the kingdom is mine， for I am so lazy that if I were going to be hanged and already had the rope around my neck， and someone put into my hand a sharp knife with which to cut the rope， I would let myself be hanged rather than to lift my hand up to the rope.”

　　When the father heard this he said， “You have taken it the farthest and shall be king.”

　　在一个遥远的地方，有一个国王，他有三个儿子，对每一个儿子他都非常喜爱，他不知道自己死后应该把王位传给他们三个中的哪一个。所以，当他快要死的时候，就把他们叫到身边说：“亲爱的孩子们，在我死后，你们三个中谁最懒，谁就继承我的王位。”老大说：“既然这样，这王位就是我的，因为我是最懒的儿子，当我躺下睡觉时，有任何东西落到我的眼睛里，我也懒得去擦掉，即使不能把眼睛闭上，我仍然会继续睡觉。”二儿子说：“爸爸，王位应该传给我，因为我是最懒的儿子。当我坐在火边取暖的时候，就是火燃到我的脚趾，我也懒得把腿收回来。”第三个儿子说：“爸爸，这王位是我的，因为我是你最懒的儿子，如果我就要被吊起来，绳子已经套在了脖子上香蕉树

　　很久以前在这片森林里面有一棵唯一的香蕉树.香蕉树上有两串香蕉.有三个来自山村的孩子.他们正在观察香蕉的成长.有四只来自这片森林的猴子.他们正在观察香蕉的成长.孩子们在每一天下午六点钟看香蕉.猴子们在每一天早上六点钟看香蕉.这三个孩子和这四只猴子非常兴奋.很快香蕉就能吃了.他们全部七个人都想吃香蕉.一天傍晚孩子们跑到香蕉树.八只色彩鲜艳的蝴蝶正落在香蕉上.香蕉差不多成黄颜色了."现在让我们吃香蕉.""不,他们没有熟呢."

　　Once upon a time there was a single banana tree in the jungle. Two bunches of bananas were on the banana tree. There were three children from a village. They were watching the bananas grow. There were four monkeys from the jungle. They were watching the bananas grow. The children looked at the bananas at five o’clock in the afternoon everyday. The monkeys looked at the bananas at six o’clock in the morning everyday. The three children and the four monkeys were very excited.Soon the bananas would be ready to eat. All seven of them wanted to eat the bananas. One evening the children ran to the banana tree.There were eight colorful butterflies sitting on the bananas. The bananas were almost yellow."Let’s eat the bananas now.""No,they are not ripe."

　　第二天早上猴子们看到香蕉.有九粒露水在香蕉上发光.这三个孩子跑到香蕉树旁,把香蕉作为早餐.这四只猴子从一棵树到另一棵树摇荡来到香蕉树.十点钟了.猴子们和孩子们要把香蕉当作早餐.孩子们看到猴子们感到非常烦乱.猴子们看到孩子们感到非常烦乱.孩子们非常害怕猴子们拿走所有的香蕉.猴子们害怕孩子们拿走所有的香蕉.孩子们很饿.他们也很疲倦.猴子们很饿.他们也很疲倦.孩子们太疲倦了而不能扔石头.猴子们太疲倦了而不能扔木棍."我很饿.""我也是."

　　，有人把一把锋利的小刀塞在我手里，要我切断绳子，我宁愿被吊起来也懒得抬起手把绳子割断。”父亲听到这里说道：“你是最合适的人选，你应该继承王位。”

　　The next morning the monkeys looked at the bananas. There were nine drops of dew sparkling on the bananas. The three children ran to the bananas tree for breakfast. The four monkeys swung from tree to tree to get to the banana tree.It was 10 o’clock.The monkeys and children wanted bananas for breakfast. The children were very upset to see the monkeys. 　　猴子们和孩子们享用了他们的早餐.他们也明白了分享比争斗更好.

　　The monkeys and the children enjoyed their breakfast. They also learned that sharing is better than fighting.
