三只小猪学英语第47集：汉英翻译大赛半决赛

　　The first little pig has an English school. The name of the school is Three Little Pigs English School. It is a very good school. The teachers of this school are very good. They speak beautiful English and they work very hard. Their students study very hard. They are very young. They can speak very good English too.
　　 They can translate from Chinese into English very quickly. They can translate from English into Chinese very quickly too. One day, CCTV播出了一条消息：On Children's Day, there will be a Chinese-English translating competition on CCTV. 这一消息在Beijing Evening Paper, Chinese Children's Paper, and China Education Paper也刊登了出来。

　　第一只小猪有他的英语学校。学校的名字叫三只小猪英语学校。这是所很棒的学校。学校的老师都很不错。他们英语很棒，他们也很努力地工作。学校里的学生都用功读书。他们很年轻。他们也可以讲很棒的英语。
　　他们可以很快地进行汉英翻译。一天，中央电视台播出了一条消息，在儿童节那天，中央电视台将举办一场汉英翻译比赛。这一消息在北京晚报，儿童报和中国教育报上也刊登出来了。

　　The first little pig看到这一消息，马上call the teachers, 他说，“Please ask the best students to go to CCTV for the translating competition. You must help them好好地准备，争取get first prize and second prize.” 于是，CCTV Chinese-English translating competition的消息很快就在Three Little Pigs English school传开了。The teachers挑选了three students作为参赛选手。They are the best students. There are two girls and one boy. One girl's name is Mary, the other girl's name is Alice. The boy's name is Sam.

　　第一只小猪看到这一消息，马上打电话给学校的老师，他说，找最好的学生去参加中央电视台的翻译比赛。你们要帮助他们好好地准备，争取拿一等奖和二等奖。于是，中央电视台的汉英翻译比赛的消息很快就在三只小猪英语学校传开了。老师挑选了三位学生作为参赛选手。他们是最好的学生。两个女生和一个男生。一个女生叫玛丽，另一个叫爱丽丝。男生的名字叫山姆。

　　Children's Day will come in eleven days. They study very hard with the help of their teachers. They all want to get first prize. 与此同时，Mr. White Cat也在鼓励his students积极参加CCTV Chinese-English translating competition. 他说，“My dear students, I know you are excellent students. Your English is very good.I am sure you can get first prize and second prize. But you must remember, the students of Three Little Pigs English School are very good too. I hear they want to get first prize and second prize too. You know, there is only one first prize and second prize. If you want to get first prize, you must study very,very hard. Understand?” His students齐声说，“Yes!” 通过考试，他们挑选了three students作为这次competition的参赛选手。They are Liu Meimei, a girl, Zhang Shanshan, another girl, and Li Xiaowei, a boy. They are all very happy and study hard with the help of Mr. White Cat.

　　再过十一天儿童节就要来了。在老师的帮助下他们都很认真地学习。他们都想拿一等奖。与此同时，白猫先生也在鼓励他的学生积极参加中央电视台的汉英翻译比赛。他说，我亲爱的学生们，我知道你们都是很优秀的。你们的英语很棒。我确定你们肯定能拿到一等奖和二等奖。但你们要记住，三只小猪英语学校来的学生也是很优秀的。我听说他们也想拿一等奖和二等奖。你们知道，只有一个一等奖和二等奖。如果你们想要拿奖，那就必须很努力地学习，听懂了吗？他的学生齐声说，听懂了。通过考试，他们挑选了三名学生作为这次比赛的参赛选手。他们是刘梅梅，张珊珊和李小伟。他们很开心，在白猫先生的帮助下很用功地学习。

　　Eleven days很快就过去了。On Children's Day, CCTV Chinese-English translating competition starts. There are three judges. They are Dr. Monkey, the second little pig, and the third little pig. Dr. Monkey曾经study medicine in Canada. That is why his English is very good. The first little pig and Mr. White Cat cannot be judges for this competition, because their students参加了this competition. This is the competition's 规则。有了这样的规则，就可以避免judges为自己的students专打高分的现象。Mr. White Cat and the first little pig can only help CCTV 主持人做一部分主持工作。CCTV主持人is a beautiful girl, she asks Mr. White Cat and the first little pig to read sentences in Chinese,让参赛选手translate them into English. CCTV 主持人说，“Today is a happy day for you. It is Children's Day. I am sure you are all very happy today. Today, we have six excellent students参加our CCTV Chinese-English translating competition. They are all very young, and their English is very good. We have three judges. They are Dr. Monkey, Mr. Second Little Pig, and Mr. Third Little Pig. Mr. White Cat and Mr. First Little Pig will read sentences in Chinese for the students to translate from Chinese into English. Now Mr. White Cat and Mr. First Little pig!”

　　十一天很快就过去了。在儿童节，中央电视台的汉英翻译比赛开始了。有三位评委。他们是猴子医生，第二只小猪和第三只小猪。猴子医生曾经在加拿大学过医，所以他的英语很好。第一只小猪和白猫先生不能作评委，因为他们的学生参加了这次比赛。这也是比赛的规则，有了这样的规则，就可以避免评委为自己的学生打高分的现象。白猫先生和第一只小猪帮助中央电视台主持人做一部分主持工作。中央电视台主持人是一位漂亮的姑娘，她让第一只小猪和白猫先生用中文念句子，让参赛选手把他们翻译成英文。中央电视台主持人说，“今天对你们来说是一个开心的日子，因为今天是儿童节。我肯定你们都是很开心的。今天，我们有六位优秀的学生参加这次汉英翻译比赛。他们都很年轻，他们的英语也很棒。我们有三位评委。他们是猴子医生，第二只小猪和第三只小猪。第一只小猪和白猫先生将会用中文给学生念句子，让他们翻译成英语。现在有请白猫先生和第一只小猪。”

　　Mr. White Cat and Mr. First Little Pig在热烈的掌声中走上台，“Thank you very much. Today we have four levels of sentences. Sentences of Level One are very short. They are easy to translate. Sentences of Level Two are short too, but not very very short. They are also easy to translate, but not very very easy.Sentences of Level Three are long, but not very long. They are a little difficult to translate. Sentences of Level Four are very long. They are very difficult to translate. This morning, we will have半决赛，and this afternoon, we will have决赛。In半决赛，we will give you sentences of Level One and Level Two only. In决赛，we will give you sentences of Level Three and Level Four. Now we will read sentences of Level One.”

　　白猫先生和第一只小猪在热烈的掌声中走上台，“谢谢，今天我们有四个级别的句子。第一个级别的句子非常简短。他们很容易翻译。第二个级别的句子也很简短，但不是那么简短。他们也容易翻译，但不是那么地容易。第三个级别的句子有点长，但不是很长。他们翻译起来有点困难。第四个级别的句子很长，很难翻译。今天早上我们将进行半决赛，下午是决赛。在半决赛中，我们会给你们第一个级别和第二个级别的句子。在决赛中，我们会给你们第三个级别和第四个级别的句子。现在，我们来读第一个级别的句子。”于是，汉英翻译大赛半决赛在热烈的掌声中拉开了帷幕。
